AUSTIN—Today, Lt. Governor David Dewhurst issued the following statement regarding the retirement of Texas Health and Human Services Executive Commissioner Tom Suehs:

"I want to commend Tom for the outstanding job he has done as Executive Commissioner of the Texas Health and Human Services Commission. Tom helped lay the groundwork for transforming our state's health care system and meeting our future goals of controlling costs and improving medical outcomes for all Texans. I want to thank him for his friendship and his many years of distinguished service to the State of Texas."
