AUSTIN – Today, Texas Lt. Governor Dan Patrick announced the appointment of six Senate members to the Health and Human Services Transition Legislative Oversight Committee, and the Joint Interim Committee to Study a Coastal Barrier System.

The Health and Human Services Transition Legislative Oversight Committee will help guide the reorganization of five existing agencies into one. This consolidation will promote accountability, and streamline operations across the state’s health and human services.

Sen. Juan “Chuy” Hinojosa

The Joint Interim Committee to Study a Coastal Barrier System will continue to study the feasibility of constructing a coastal barrier protection system that will protect the people most vulnerable to hurricanes and other damaging weather events.
