AUSTIN – Lt. Gov. Dan Patrick issued the following statement on the filing of Senate Bill 14 – Ethics Reform, by Senator Van Taylor (R-Plano):

“Texans hold their elected officials to the highest standards – and rightfully so. This legislative session, I’ve made ethics reform one of my top priorities so that government – at all levels – can continue to inspire the public’s trust in a transparent and ethically principled manner.

“I commend Sen. Taylor for filing SB 14. It is an important bill that will strengthen Texas ethics laws.”
