AUSTIN – Lt. Gov. Dan Patrick released this statement today following the filing of Senate Bill 27 – The Help for Texas Heroes Act, by Senator Donna Campbell (R – New Braunfels).

“Our veterans deserve the very best care that we can offer. Senate Bill 27 helps provide that by building on the success of the Military Veteran Peer Network. The addition of veteran-focused professionals exclusively dedicated to providing clinical interventions for veterans and their families, will increase access to mental health services, and provide critical support to veterans.

“I commend Sen. Campbell for filing this legislation and for her commitment to the military men and women who serve our nation.”
