AUSTIN – Lt. Gov. Dan Patrick issued the following statement after a U.S. District Judge in San Antonio placed an injunction on Senate Bill 4:

“Over the last six years over 228,000 criminal aliens have been booked into local Texas jails and charged with over 606,000 criminal offenses including homicide, rape, burglary, drug charges and kidnapping. We passed Senate Bill 4 to protect our communities. I am confident that the courts will ultimately affirm that this law is constitutional.”
