Lt. Governor Patrick Participates in Astros World Series Victory Parade

HOUSTON – Lt. Gov. Dan Patrick was proud to join the Houston Astros World Series Victory Parade in Houston today. The lieutenant governor issued this statement following the parade:

“The World Series victory by the Astros demonstrates what we have known all along — this is a team of champions and they have won the heart of Houston, the rest of Texas and now the rest of the country and the world. This victory comes at a particularly important time for Houston and Southeast Texas, boosting the spirits of those who have lost so much as well as the thousands of volunteers statewide who dropped everything to help their neighbors. Throughout Hurricane Harvey and its aftermath we have been ‘One Texas’ and now, as we are rebuilding our neighborhoods and communities, the Astros have given us all a Texas team to root for. The Astros are one more symbol of what we mean when we say ‘Texas Strong.’”

On Thursday, Gov. Greg Abbott officially proclaimed November 3 as Houston Astros Day in Texas.
