SAN ANTONIO – Lt. Gov. Patrick gave the keynote address today at the Alamo during the Commemoration Ceremony of the 182nd Texas Independence Day.

“The Alamo is our treasure, but its meaning and importance extends far beyond San Antonio and Texas. The spirit of the Alamo lives in the hearts of all Americans. The battle that took place here was a fight for the ideals and principles that we hold dear — freedom, independence and liberty. America would be a very different place if the battle had not been fought here — it literally changed the face and map of our country. We are committed to protecting this sacred ground for our children and our grandchildren and for generations to come.”
