AUSTIN – Lt. Gov. Dan Patrick issued this statement today following the unanimous passage of Senate Bill 30 – Taxpayers Right to Know – Bond Transparency, by Sen. Brian Birdwell, R-Granbury:

“I commend Sen. Brian Birdwell for passing this important legislation. It’s essential that Texans have all the relevant cost information they need when voting on local bonds. Senate Bill 30 will make certain voters are informed about the immediate and long-term implications of passing bonds at the local level. Having this information listed plainly on the ballot is common sense and the right thing to do.”
